No LVP nominations

The Liberal Vannin Party has explained its reasons for not nominating any candidates for the forthcoming Legislative Council election.

Central Branch Chairman, Nigel Dobson, says it has chosen not to put anyone forward because the party's policy is for LegCo to be chosen by the people of the Isle of Man.

Once the election has taken place, Liberal Vannin says it will review its position and take whatever stance it feels is most likely to bring about reforms it claims the vast majority of the Manx public are seeking.

Mr Dobson says in a democracy the people must have the opportunity to elect and reject its representatives (audio file attached):
