Parking debate deferred

by isleofman.com 19th January 2007
Ramsey Commissioners have deferred a debate about parking in the town centre until next month.

The board was due to discuss the issue at this week's meeting but has received a limited number of public comments.

It also wants to hear the views of the town’s Chamber of Trade, which meets at the end of January.

Nine months ago, traffic flow in Parliament Street was reversed, but the parking bays were left on the same side of the road.

Now, the Department of Transport has presented three options to the Commissioners for changing the parking arrangements.

The options are displayed in the town hall and the public is invited to make its views known, either in writing or by email to enquiries@rtc.gov.im by the end of today.
