Survey to start this weekend

by isleofman.com 19th January 2007
The Isle of Man Constabulary is going to greater lengths than ever before to find out what the people of the Island really think of the service it provides.

Market research company BMG will carry out an independent public satisfaction survey next month (text from attached audio file):

Particular emphasis will be placed on how residents rate the performance of the police against the four strategic aims of instilling public confidence, public satisfaction, public reassurance and the protection of young people.

This weekend a thousand households, chosen at random, will be sent a letter, containing information and asking recipients to take part in a telephone survey.

New Home Affairs Minister Martyn Quayle says all the views expressed will be entirely confidential and the results will be published later this year.

He says the information will be used to help the department and the Constabulary improve the service provided to the community, and plan developments for future years.
