Nominations close today for the vacancies on the Legislative Council.

There are two empty seats following the retirement of former Chief Minister, Donald Gelling, and the resignation of Leonard Singer last year.

Names must be in by 5pm.

The election will be held in the House of Keys on January 30, and candidates need at least 13 votes to secure a position.
