Cowboy builders warning

Recent reports of cowboy builders operating in the south of the Island have highlighted a problem which is more common than people may think, according to Trading Standards Chief Inspector, John Peet.

He says both local and itinerant tradesmen are involved in 'cold calling' on local residents, carrying out shoddy work and charging extortionate amounts of money.

He says older people are particularly at risk (audio file attached): :
