Cowboy builders reports

by isleofman.com 17th January 2007
Port Erin Police have had two reports of cowboy builders operating in the south of the Island in the last two days.

They believe the tradesmen, who've been cold calling elderly and vulnerable people, have a yellow transit van.

In one case they started doing work without an agreed price and tried to force a lady into paying.

Police advise anyone who has cold callers to get a written quote and a business card.

If you have any doubts about any tradesperson, call trading standards on 686520.
