'No' to taxi plans

by isleofman.com 17th January 2007
A taxi operator who’s been in breach of his licence for some time has been told he can’t operate another two vehicles from his Douglas home.

Paul Joughin of Copse Hill had applied for planning permission to run two mini-buses from his home.

The planning committee turned this down because of its effect on road safety and the nuisance it would cause to other residents.

But Mr Joughin appealed against the refusal, only to see the committee’s decision backed by DLGE Minister John Shimmin.

Jason Roberts reports.
