Accident victim making "real progress"

The mother of a Douglas man, seriously injured more than seven weeks ago in an accident at the bottom of Richmond Hill, says he is making real progress, despite contracting MRSA.

Twenty-eight year-old Chris was struck by a Ford Mondeo car as he stood behind his own, stationary vehicle in the Douglas bound carriageway.

His car had run out of petrol.

Chris has been moved out of the Intensive Therapy Unit into a normal ward at Noble's hospital (pictured) and his mother, Carol, says his condition is continuing to improve:
