Everyone should 'belt up'

The Isle of Man's Chief Vehicle Examiner is urging everyone to wear their seatbelts.

Mark Patterson says, despite it being a basic requirement in the highway code, too many drivers and passengers still feel the rules do not apply to them.

The law states that you must wear a belt if it's available, unless you are exempt.

It also highlights that anyone travelling in a coach or taxi that's involved in an accident would not be entitled to compensation if they hadn't buckled up.

Mr Patterson says if people saw the results of crashes at the Vehicle Testing Centre the message really would hit home:
