Grandstand improvements planned

The finishing touches to the TT Grandstand should be in place by this year's centenary, 20 years after the complex was first built.

The Tourism Minister will ask Tynwald next week to agree spending ?500,000 on improving facilities for new shops at the rear of the Grandstand.

The aim is to do-away with the 'gaping holes' at the St Ninian's end, which was left unfinished when the complex was built in 1986.

Minister Adrian Earnshaw (pictured) says the job has got to be finished properly this time:
