Entries open for young musicians

by isleofman.com 11th January 2007
Talented young musicians will have the opportunity to showcase their skills later this year.

The Young Musician of Mann competition is held every three years, and is run by the Mananan Festival.

Since it began in 1983 a variety of instruments have captured the attention of the judges from a trombone to, quite controversially, a recorder.

Festival Director, John Bethell, believes such events certainly have a place in today's society (audio file attached):

Entries must be in by May of this year, for an application form contact the Erin Arts Centre on 832662.
