Polling in Peel today

Peel residents are being urged to cast their vote in today's local authority election.

Clerk of the Commissioners, Peter Ledley, says there are nearly 3,000 people eligible to go to the polls.

At the last election in 2004 there was a turnout of around 40 per cent.

There are three candidates for the empty seat, left vacant following the election of Tim Crookall to the House of Keys.

They are Ian Baker, Tony Pearce and Iaen Skidmore.
