New names for flats

Douglas Corporation's recently refurbished blocks of flats in Lord Street are to be given new identities.

They are to be re-named after the six wards in the town, namely Athol, Derby, Hills, Murrays, St George's and Victoria.

Chairman of the Public Health and Housing Committee, Councillor Doreen Kinrade (pictured), says there's a very important consideration behind the move:
