No inquest ruling

by isleofman.com 6th January 2007
It has been decided not to proceed with an inquest into the death of 17 year old Luke Ashton who died suddenly on Christmas Day.

Michael Moyle announced his decision in court this morning, and said he was satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances nor any indiction alcohol or drugs were involved in the death.

He said the post mortem carried out by Dr Christopher Clague had found no defined cause of death, but as we reported yesterday, it's thought he was a victim of Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome.

Mr Moyle said Luke's father, Dr David Ashton, a consultant physician in Birmingham, would be undertaking further inquiries himself.

He went on to express his condolences to the teenager's family, and said any death is upsetting particularly when it's an otherwise healthy young boy.
