Bailed for cannabis possession
Sentence on a nineteen year old man has been adjourned by the High Bailiff for reports.

Daniel Thomas Caulfield, of Fairfield Terrace, Douglas, admitted affray and possessing cannabis resin.

Sergeant Steven Maddox, prosecuting, said the defendant was involved in an incident at 3.30am on October 8th in Union Mills.

Caulfield started to push a woman, Bernadette Cowell, who fell into a hedge. He kept pushing her back into the hedge and a witness called police. However when they arrived, although there was a crowd of people at the scene, Mrs Cowell had disappeared, and so had the defendant.

He was arrested at on October 26th at his home. Police noticed a smell of cannabis as they entered the building, and they found a piece weighing 1.3 grammes plus a cannabis cigarette. Caulfield said it was for his own use

He was bailed until January 30th
