Xmas drink driving figures

by isleofman.com 4th January 2007
There are further signs of a good response from motorists to the current Christmas and New Year anti-drink driving campaign.

With one full day to go the number of people arrested on suspicion of committing the offence is 13, ten of whom have been charged.

The figure is broadly similar to a year ago, but far more people have been stopped during the current campaign.

A spokesman said it looked as if motorists were getting the message.

Only one person was arrested over the New Year.

A man was stopped in Anagh Coar at 3:30 am yesterday and subsequently charged with drink driving.
