Illiam Dhone remembered today

by isleofman.com 2nd January 2007
At 2 o'clock today the annual Illiam Dhone Commemoration will take place at Hango Hill, near Castletown.

The ceremony remembers the execution of Illiam Dhone - also known as William Christian - for treason, in 1663.

Giving the English speech this year is former restaurant owner and Keys candidate David Buttery. So why did Mr Buttery think HE'D been asked to speak:

Hango Hill is on the coast road behind the airport, and all are welcome.
