Centenary TT stamps and coins to be launched

The launch on New Year's Day of Isle of Man Centenary TT stamps and coins will be marked with a series of special events.

Record TT sidecar winner, Dave Molyneux, will set off at 9am and ride pillion on a lap of the Mountain Course, carrying 100 sets of first day covers.

Afterwards, he'll join Tourism Minister Adrian Earnshaw and DTI Minister, David Cretney, at Regent Street Post Office, which is opening its doors at 10am for just one hour.

During that time, the Manx public will be able to get its hands on the sets for the first time, a select number of which will be signed by sidecar legend Molyneux.

Philatelic Bureau Manager, Dot Tilbury, says the stamps feature a definitive list of the greatest TT competitors of all time (audio file attached):
