No plans to combine departments

Having the same department members at trade and industry, and tourism and leisure doesn’t herald changes to the structure of government.

So says Chief Minister Tony Brown, responding to speculation he was following the recommendations in a recent report suggesting the two departments should merge.

Mr Brown says it makes sense for the DTI and DTL to have close ties but is pointing out there are different ministers in charge at each.

He denies it's a move towards combining the two:
