DHSS considering EMI option

by isleofman.com 30th December 2006
Residents of Farmhill in South Douglas are waiting to see whether the DHSS takes up an option to build a unit for the elderly mentally infirm as part of a controversial development.

Earlier this month Heritage Homes was given the green light to proceed with the scheme, including 21 homes, on land alongside Scooil Vallajeelt.

However, in a separate appeal ruling, former DoLGE Minister John Rimington also allowed an alternative set of proposals, which would involve the construction of 34 properties but no E.M.I. unit.

Both schemes include a number of first time buyer, or "affordable", houses.
