Free fire safety check

by isleofman.com 29th December 2006
People with concerns about how safe their homes would be in the event of a fire are being encouraged to get in touch with the fire service.

Over-60s are entitled to free checks, and where necessary will be given a smoke alarm.

Officers will also carry out assessments for landlords concerned about whether or not their property meets basic fire regulations.

Chief Fire Officer, Brian Draper, says both owners and tenants have responsibilities when it comes to safety.

The number to call if you'd like a fire safety check is 647 300.
