World champ backs velodrome

The Isle of Man's Commonwealth Games gold medal winner is backing the building of a velodrome at Onchan Stadium.

Laxey cyclist Mark Cavendish says it would push the already excellent standard of Manx cycling to the next level.

Earlier this month, the Isle of Man Cycling Association submitted its business plan to stadium owners, Onchan Commissioners, who will decide in the New Year which organisation it will lease the site to.

Mark is hoping the association's plan gains approval, so a vital facility can be provided for the Island's cyclists:
