Dramatic dog rescue

A small dog has been the focus of a Coastguard rescue operation at Groudle Glen in Onchan. (pictured)
The black Labrador puppy was marooned on a rock after slipping from a path into the river.

Two coastguards swam 50 yards to reach the frightened pup and bring it to safety.

He's now back at home - none the worse for his ordeal.

Station Officer at Douglas Coastguard David Keggin says it was a potentially dangerous situation:
