Missing man - renewed appeal

by isleofman.com 20th December 2006
Police have renewed their appeal for a man who has been missing for almost two weeks.

58 year old Peter Merritt from Douglas, known commonly as "Bob", was last seen on Friday the 8th of December.

He was believed to be wearing a dark blue tartan type check shirt, light blue jeans, a zip up dark green fleece and a pair of light brown suede trainers. Mr Merritt is descibed as having a distinctive husky whisper-like voice as a result of a throat operation.

Inspector Richard Power says there have been some sightings of him since the Friday:

Police say it's "out of character" for Mr Merritt do disappear for so long, and miss various appointments.

They stress he is not in any trouble, their only concern is for his welfare.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is asked to ring police headquarters on 631 212, or speak to any police officer, of ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
