General election inquiry

Having an inquiry after a general election is not uncommon and will help to iron out any shortfalls in the updated electoral registers, according to Treasury Minister Alan Bell. (Pictured left)

A division of his department was responsible for compiling the voters' lists.

In Tynwald this week, Onchan MHK Peter Karran (pictured right) successfully lobbied for an inquiry into the state of the Electoral Register.

Mr Karran claimed a significant number of people were disenfranchised by changes to the registration process.
