Head chef - hotel closure a shock

The head chef at the Castle Mona Hotel has spoken of the shock after he and his colleagues were told the business was to close.

The doors of the Castle Mona complex, one of the most prestigious and historic hotels in the Island, yesterday shut its doors, with difficult trading conditions cited as the reason.

Skyland Investments Ltd, trading as Castle Mona Hotel and Entertainment, has now been placed into voluntary liquidation.

Staff were only informed a few hours before the announcement was made public.
