Be safe on horseback

Be safe, be seen, and don‘t be on horseback during the winter darkness.

That’s the message from the British Society of Horses after its Isle of Man Chairman was horrified to learn about a teenage girl riding on the main Lezayre Road without reflective gear.

Jane Barham says the incident could have ended in a horrific accident as traffic was heavy and the girl would have blended in to hedges.

She says the advice is simple – don’t go out riding on roads when it’s dark:
