Former MEA Chief Executive attacks "trial by disclosure and innuendo"

by isleofman.com 14th December 2006
The former Chief Executive of the Manx Electricity Authority has told politicians "to focus on the reality of the situation rather than waste public money in a witch hunt"

Mike Proffitt has issued a statement in response to the answer given to a Tynwald question by the MEA Chairman, Eddie Teare (pictured).

In it Mr Teare said he and his Board were "deeply disappointed and frustrated" with delays and lack of action over investigations into alleged discrepancies in Mr Proffitts expenses.

Mr Proffitt is off Island on business but, in a hard hitting response delivered in written form through his advocate, he details his version of the events involving correspondence with the Chief Criminal Prosecutor and the Attorney Generals Chambers.
