Police say they are getting "very concerned" for the safety of a man who has been missing since last Friday (8th)

Fifty eight year old Douglas man Peter Merritt, known commonly as "Bob" is described as being white of slim build with short receding black hair. greying at the sides a ruddy complexion and glasses. He also has two distinctive tattoos, a dark green bird on his left forearm and a purple flower on his right forearm.

When last seen he was wearing a dark blue tartan type check shirt, light blue jeans a zip up dark green fleece and a pair of light brown suede trainers.

Police say it's "out of character" for Mr Merritt do disappear for so long . . and miss various appointments

They stress he is not in any trouble, police say they and his family are only concerned for his welfare.
