Karran to ask about missing voters

The drop in numbers of people registered to vote at last month's General Election has been condemned by Onchan MHK Peter Karran.

He says the fact the list contained fewer names than at the last election - despite a growth in population - is 'appalling'.

It has been blamed on the requirement to compile a completely new list this time - which meant anyone who did not return their form was left off the electoral register.

Mr Karran (pictured) will call for an inquiry into the matter in Tynwald today.

He says more should have been done to ensure an accurate, comprehensive list:
