Family Christmas gifts stolen

by isleofman.com 8th December 2006
Christmas has been ruined for a Douglas family - after thieves broke into their home and took a bag of children's presents.

Police say burglars entered the property in Hatfield Grove between Thursday night and the early hours today, while two children and their mother were asleep upstairs.

As well as the presents, ?100 in cash was stolen from the kitchen.

Officers have described the theft - which has deeply upset the mother - as cruel and callous.

And they're urging anyone with any information - however small - to come forward.

It's understood the back door was insecure - so the advice is secure your house and valuables over the festive season and don't be prey to opportunistic thieves.
