Electoral problems easily solved

A former returning officer on the Island says anyone who was missed off the electoral register should make sure their name is now on the list.

Advocate John Wright was speaking after reports that some people had been unable to vote in the recent election, following reforms of the electoral register. This meant those who didn't return the forms sent out by the Treasury would be struck off the list.

Mr Wright says the register is now done on a rolling basis so people can be added at any time.

However he believes the Treasury had done as much as could be reasonably expected to let people know of the changes prior to the general election:
