Crellin on probation

by isleofman.com 8th December 2006
A man who made use of provoking behaviour has been placed on 18 months probation by the High Bailiff.

Andrew James Crellin of Darragh Avenue, Douglas, appeared for sentence.

Stuart Peters has the details:

(Text of attached audio)
Crellin was involved in an incident at his home at 1.45 am on October 21st.

A friend of his partner arrived at the house and made a comment, causing Crellin to lose his temper. Police attended, by which time two children who had been upstairs asleep had come down stairs. One suffered an asthma attack as a result of the incident.

His advocate said alcohol played a large part.

Mr Moyle said that it was a serious incident because the children were involved, but he was taking into consideration the fact that Crellin was angry about the comment made by the friend.

He also advised him that the friend shouldn't visit the house.
