Electronic voting on the way

by isleofman.com 7th December 2006
Electronic voting could be used by the House of Keys for the first time next week.

Most of the equipment has been installed and may be ready for use by members on Tuesday 12th December.

It will speed up the taking of votes for divisions and other ballots. The Clerk will view a screen where the ayes and noes will appear opposite the members name.

It would theoretically be available for the next vote for the position of Chief Minister on Thursday 14th December. However the decision has been made to continue with the manual form of ballot, as that has been the system used so far for this election.
