Chief Minister nominations in by 5pm

A second round of nominations for the job of Chief Minister closes at 5pm today.

Yesterday, Tynwald failed to vote in any of the three candidates, Michael MHK David Cannan, Health Minister Steve Rodan and Home Affairs Minister John Shimmin.

Speculation is mounting that newly re-elected Speaker of the House of Keys, Tony Brown, may now throw his hat into the ring.

Mr Shimmin says he and Mr Rodan, who polled twelve and eight votes respectively in yesterday's final ballot, will now meet to discuss what is in their own, and the Island's, best interests (audio file attached):
