Police officer on drink drive charge

by isleofman.com 4th December 2006
Five days into the Christmas and New Year anti-drink driving campaign Manx Radio can reveal a police officer has been arrested and charged with the offence.

The officer hasn't been named by the Isle of Man Constabulary, but we understand he is thirty-six year old Constable Will Moffatt.

It's also believed he was arrested on the day the campaign was launched.

Police have confirmed an unnamed thirty-six year old man from Andreas is facing a drink driving charge and will appear before the High Bailiff, Michael Moyle, on December 12th.

A statement also says at this stage there is no comment in relation to any possible internal disciplinary matters.

It's understood the man was arrested at his home.
