Christmas posting arrangements

by isleofman.com 5th December 2006
The counter at Douglas Sorting Office will be opening longer from today (Monday) to deal with the Christmas rush.

From this morning, anyone wishing to collect a parcel can do so between 7am and 9pm, while parcels and letters can be posted from 9am up until 9pm, although items need to be sent before 6.45 each evening to ensure they’re despatched to the United Kingdom and overseas the same day.

Parcels which the post office have tried to deliver during the day, won’t be available for collection until after 6pm.

Meanwhile, the last date for sending letters, large letters and packets to the UK, is December 21.

Mail bound to South and Central America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Far East (except Japan), Australia and New Zealand should be sent no later than December 8.

Mail to the USA, Canada, Japan and Eastern Europe should be posted by December 11 and mail to Western Europe by December 13.
