Don't drink and drive or risk the consequences!

The Western Neighbourhood Policing team is going to catch people who continue to ignore the messages about drink driving.

Operation Christmas Presence is being launched this morning (Monday) with the aim of encouraging motorists to stop and think before they get behind the wheel.

There will be road-checks at various times throughout the day, and anyone suspected of drinking will be breathalysed.

It's specifically aimed at those who are still over the limit the morning after, or who have a few drinks at the lunchtime office party.

Inspector Simon Lowe (pictured) says he wants everyone to have a safe Christmas without risking their own or anyone else's celebration through drink driving (audio file attached):
