Operation Allied launched

Southern police have launched 'Operation Allied' a Christmas crack-down on crime.

Every Friday and Saturday evenings during December, more officers will be on the beat to tackle anti-social behaviour, public drunkenness, under-age drinking and illegal drugs use.

Inspector Paul Cubbon (pictured) from the Southern Neighbourhood Policing Team says they have a problem with young people roaming the streets in gangs.

He says the majority of them don't cause any trouble, but there is a small element who do.

Inspector Cubbon says parents have to take more responsibility for their children:
