Cystic fibrosis awareness

by isleofman.com 2nd December 2006
The family of a girl with cystic fibrosis in the Isle of Man is hoping the condition will now receive the attention it deserves.

Ray and Val Cox's daughter is thirteen, and was diagnosed at birth.

Cystic Fibrosis is a life-threatening, inherited disease and affects more than 7500 babies, children and young adults throughout the United Kingdom.

Here on the Island there are 13 sufferers, the youngest is only a year old.

Yesterday it was revealed the UK Chancellor's baby son had been diagnosed with the condition.

Mr Cox says despite the uncertain prognosis, his daughter currently leads a normal life.
