Be vigilant, warn police at start of festive period

The police are calling for the Manx public to be extra vigilant ahead of the start of late night shopping in Douglas this evening (Thursday).

Inspector Richard Power says an increase in shoppers then, and at the weekends as well, almost inevitably leads to an increase in problems.

One of the busiest areas is expected to be Douglas Promenade, especially with additional parking available on the walkway.

Inspector Power says drivers and pedestrians alike need to take extra care (audio file attached):
