Raby warned custody likely

by isleofman.com 30th November 2006
A 19 year old man who admitted motoring offences and assaulting police officers has been warned custody is possible.

Inspector Helen Mason prosecuting told the court Kalum Peter Raby of the Pinewood Complex in Pulrose, took a van without the owners consent on October the 21st and crashed it into a bollard on Cooil Road in Braddan.

He left the scene and was eventually spoken to by police on the New Castletown Road where he was seen towing the van.

He was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and provided samples, which gave a reading of 159.

The court was told Raby’s manner was aggressive, violent and threatening and he kept spitting at the officers who were trying to restrain him, and two of them were hit.

High Bailiff Michael Moyle adjourned sentencing for reports.
