Vehicle safety checks reveal bangers

That is the message from police after almost fifty drivers were taken to task when their vehicles failed roadside safety checks.

Traffic police are now reviewing their recent week-long roadside campaign - which was aimed at pointing-out defects to drivers - and insisting the repairs were carried out.

Inspector Richard Power says those with unroadworthy cars vans or motorcycles need to do something about it:
