School trips should continue

A local headteacher is supporting calls for the continuation of school trips.

Sue Moore says the educational benefits of excursions can't be underestimated.

In the United Kingdom teachers are being encouraged to keep taking pupils out of the classroom, despite the dangers.

A string of tragedies involving youngsters in the UK has meant some staff are too worried about legal action, if something goes wrong.

But Miss Moore says before children are taken away over here, parents are asked to sign a disclaimer.
