Fantasy Tynwald winner gets 22 right!

by isleofman.com 29th November 2006
On the day the new House of Keys is due to be sworn in Manx Radio can reveal the winner of the Fantasy Tynwald competition, run on the station's website during the run-up to the general election.

Visitors to the election micro-site at manxradio.com were invited to choose their ideal line-up of candidates for the House, with a prize for the person who got closest to the actual result.

The most accurate prediction came from Ken Bawden, of Baldrine who was the only person to correctly fill 22 of the 24 seats.

He failed to predict Graham Cregeen's surprise win in Malew and Santon, and gave the wrong person a seat in Rushen in place of outgoing Local Government and Environment Minister John Rimington.

Mr Bawden, a retired Chief Executive of the Department of Trade and Industry, wins a weekend break.
