Accident anguish

The mother of a Douglas man, who was struck by a car at the bottom of Richmond Hill on Friday, has spoken of her family’s anguish.

28 year-old Chris Walmsley, the managing director of a local demolition company, was struck by a Ford Mondeo car as he stood behind his own stationary vehicle in the Douglas bound carriageway of the road.

It is thought that his car had run out of petrol when the accident occurred.

He remains in a stable condition in Nobles Hospital.

His mother, Carol, says the family are getting much support:
