Richard and Julie Corkill have launched hard-hitting attacks on the handling of Mrs Corkill's recent trial.
In a statement issued today, the former Chief Minister describes the guilty verdicts against his wife as a 'devastating miscarriage of justice'.
Meanwhile in a separate release to the media, Mrs Corkill (pictured) expresses dismay at the emotional and financial costs to her family.
The comments come as Mrs Corkill confirms she will appeal against her convictions on charges of false accounting and obtaining money by deception.
Mr Corkill said the decision to appeal is a family one.
