Bogus roofers

Police in Ramsey are warning householders to be on their guard against bogus roofers.

Two men have been calling on addresses in the north of the Island, offering to do 'urgent' repairs, claiming they are time-served trades-people working for a local firm.

Officers say the pair are demanding payment in advance for materials - but victims are being left with inflated bills for shoddy work. .

And according to PC Rob Midgall from Ramsey Police the conmen are preying on vulnerable people.

He has this advice for anyone unsure about an unsolicited approach:
