Corkill to appeal

Julie Corkill, the wife of former Chief Minister Richard Corkill, has lodged an appeal after she was convicted of three charges of false accounting and one of obtaining money by deception.

Last month, she was found guilty of four of the six charges on which she stood trial.

She was subsequently fined ?10,000.

The charges relate to grants paid by government towards development of holiday accommodation at the Corkill's Onchan home, Ballacain.

On Friday, Corkill (pictured) was also ordered to pay ?22,500 towards the costs of her trial.
