Cooish kicks-off

An annual week long festival begins today (Saturday) celebrating the Manx language, culture and heritage.

Cooish, which is Manx Gaelic for chat or conversation, takes place until December the first and features lectures, musical performances and informal meetings.

Manx Language Officer for the Manx Heritage Foundation, Adrian Cain, says Cooish aims to build on and promote the language's recent revival.

Adrian says they're looking to get as many people involved as possible, both over the week and in the long term:
